got this guy on the last day of the season. the photo doesn't capture how steep it was. he slid a ways down the mountainside before getting tangled in some brush.

it was an excellent season. watched a 5x4 and a big 3 point spar for over an hour one day, and saw a ridiculous little spike whitetail come in to see what the racket was about. on another day just about got trampled by a bighorn ram chasing a ewe. wish i had my camera handy, or better yet, that the sheep season was still open.

flushed a giant twice in very steep, heavy timber. he never crossed the narrow shooting lane that i had though

What range?
What cal?

about 150 yards, straight downhill though.

hit him with a 205 grain hornaday (sp?) .330" softpoint in graf brass using enough IMR4064 to shoot to the sights at 100 yards. the rifle is a steyr M95 in 8x56R.

Way to go Mig25! Isn't it great to know you can still fill a tag with iron sights! If I get my ducks in a row this year I would like to go retro next season too. Congrats man, that is a beautiful Muley!
P.S. Although the pic doesn't give the slope justice, I have some idea by the looks of it. I had to use a makeshift snatchblock to pull one of mine out of a ravine once. It was the hardest 100 yards to the truck I ever had to go but I loved every second. Great job!
