Last day to shoot prohib rifles April 9?

Are you sorry you (in good faith) registered your military style rifles?

NEWS ALERT (today)

I just got a call from CFC Edmonton about my SAP application for Prohibited Rifles.

The lady said she can issue SAP only up to April 10. She asked if we should bother. When I asked why they can't issue beyond that date, she said it was part of this new bill.

Okay, this is it. The intent is clear.

Now this office's interpretation of the Act may be wrong (possibly), or this is a convenient dodge of my paperwork, is this may be the royal screw everyone who registered their rifles always expected. What do you think?

Prohibited firearms, other than prohibited 12(6) handguns, may no longer be transported to a shooting range. They may only be transported for specific purposes, such as a change of residence, repair, export, disposal or taken to a gun show.

WTF IS THAT ALL ABOUT !!!!!! ?????????

I think its kinda self explanatory...
"may no longer be transported to a shooting range."

...that sucks...

"They may only be transported for specific purposes, such as ... disposal..."

I'm shocked... really...

Can anyone say confiscation next? This is such BS. I Don't own these guns and I am pissed. The Liberals say that confiscation is not their plan this is public safety. Now they are going to say there is no "Lawful Purpose" to have these guns so they have to be Dewated or Destroyed. I don't think I am stretching here.

I must say I never thought it woudl come to this in my life time - I had expected they woudl just try to let the owners die off.

It does raise the ante a bit does it not...

 So...the plan takes shape 'eh..Take away the legitimate "uses" for these firearms, guess what comes next!!     .....R....

I would think a lot of these guns might get stolen...in the near future....

Lets go to Ottawa

I don't own any 12(x) but this pisses me off something fierce. This need media attention, and we need to know how many people this affects, mabey Gary B has the figures of how many 12(x) owners there are...

Just got off the phone with the NS PFO.They are in the process of writing/sending notification out to all prohib owners other than 12/6..Anyone who has valid range permits will have them cancelled shortly. What can I say other than I am completely disgusted....R.....

I don't remember seeing this in the proposed regulatory changes before, I assume this is fall out from the shootings in Alberta. The more worrying aspect is that it shows the Canadian Govt. is going to take action against owners of semi-auto rifles because of those shootings, so the real question is, what next?

Just got a reply from Garry Breitkreuz's assistant..

Elect a Conservative Government is the only real solution. The Liberals still think law-abiding gun owners are the problem. Garry and the Conservative Caucus will do everything we can to expose this most recent stupidity.
