I've been having trouble with the last round not feeding in my No.1 Mk.III. The bolt slides over the round, which is too far up at the tip and therefore not giving the bolt head enough solid contact.

I've read a couple articles on 'tuning' the magazine feed lips and have had only partial success. What does seem to work is upwards pressure on the magazine. There is about an 1/8" of play and gently pushing the magazine fully in works.

My question is, can I shim the magazine where the release makes contact or alternatively adjust the release to put more upwards pressure on the magazine?

Any advice would be helpful!

Look at your mag. from the top down. If the sides are bowed out at all, that can cause your problem. Put the mag. in a (padded) vise and gently turn until the sides are straight. By straightening the sides, it allows the riser to 'rise' slightly higher.
I had the last round feeding problem in a couple mags. and that solved it.
hopefully it works for you.:)
