I dogged a group of five around for an hour this evening and shot a huge doe just before Toomer could shoot it... he was razzing me about shooting a fawn last nite:mad: ... paybacks are a #####:p
Four during the late season so far and twenty for the year...
holy sh*t ya got them tied to tree,s:confused:

Well the week is over... we got four with the M/L's. Could have been better we missed a nice big buck and had lots of deer get by us. I have never worked so hard to get the deer moving.
I think they should extend the M/L season until the end of December in the southern WMU's!
I also think they should make the supplemental tags either/or Muzzle loader or Archery!

Lilpink:

Although I don't deer hunt, I agree with extending the season and tag opportunities, with the number of deer around here.

Same thing for the resident geese too!!!!!!!!!

REDD I still have archery tags for 73 and my wildcard, and a KILLER property to hunt in 73 on the Island. We all saw deer (some inside of 10 yards) this morning, but nothing to show for it. A few big bucks, butthey didnt show themselves this morning.

Saw a used-to-be 8-pointer to-day....his left antler was gone ...kinda early for shedding isn't it ?
My kid said one of his buddies found a fresh shed a few days ago .
Not much moving last 7 days or so...see the same 8 or 9 deer ...one fawn , 4 or 5 does 2 or 3 small bucks . Saw a couple of timber wolves hanging around...but they have apparently moved on...no more tracks .

I'm out with the crossbow on Sundays and Thursday mornings- Deer are moving around pretty well and running through between 4-5am before bedding down. Just a matter of time though before the "Vixen" does its job..

Good luck guys.

The used-to-be 8-pointer that I saw yesterday (as a one antlered 4-pointer) is now an antlerless deer . At least I think it is the same buck . He came out just at last shooting light and chased away all the other deer around the shack even tho all that he had adorning his head were two whitish patches .

The normal fork-horn that I've seen just about every day, including this morning, showed up in late afternoon minus one antler .

I got this guy on the 7th with the muzzle loader.

Looks like a sharpening steel
No luck yesterday, but came up with a new game plan. found literally 4 dozen beds in a 10 acre section of thick bush.
Saturday morning should be interesting, gonna try to get my Dad his first Deer with a Xbow.

Yesterday was the end of season....bummer .
This is the second year in a row that I haven't pulled the trigger on any big game animals .
Nice buck Ishodu

Actually I took the pic just when I got home from cutting up, I just wrapped my sharping steel and knife in shop towels too keep them from touching each other.

Oh and in the 1st pic it looks like I shot way back but thats the exit hole as he was quarting toward me.
