Late production FN49 question

Rifle is a late production s/n36,### 8mm FN49.Is this a chrome
bore?How many were made with the scope rail?Thanks 375rum

Aprx. 9000 rifles were made with the scope cut, 7500 of these falling in the 27,600 - 37,600 sn range.

It's not chrome.

Thanks Steve,read the manual but turned up no info
on the barrel as far as chrome lined.Now I know,have
the funnel ready for after the range.LOL

The only reference I can find to chrome bores is on the Argentine 7.62 Nato conversion rifles. Judging by my SAFN, they certainly don't have chrome bores. It's a low serial rifle though, IIRC in the 75xx range.

Do you have a 2 piece firing pin or at least made sure the firing pin channel is clean and dry?

2 piece pin,rifle is spotless,I got it that way.Much nicer than the
last 8mm I had.It has a stock disc with actual arabic on it(not that
I know what it says)The others did not even have a disc.It does not
look to have been used much.Planning on keeping this one.

That sounds great. Did you pick up any of the 8mm Milarm had? Or were you all stocked up before?

I had a bit & the former owner stocked me up some more.
he had some non corrosive FMJ no idea where he got that.
