I really thought my hunting season was over. My buddy had drawn for a late-season cow elk but was going to be in Mexico for the first half of the season. I really didn't give him much chance of picking one up -- Until they showed up in the field behind my house the day after he left for Mexico. I watched them every day for over a week. By the time he got back I had them patterned perfectly. He came over last night to hunt them and was sitting out at the edge of the field by 3:30 PM. I walked out and brought him back into the house, telling him there was no point in being there that early. We had coffee and chatted for a while and then at 4:55 I told him to head back out and shoot his elk. He was just sitting down when the herd walked in from the woods and he shot a really big cow. It took us quite a while to get her back into the yard last night and a few hours to get her quartered up this morning. Now! My hunting season is done! (Aside from popping a coyote or two).

No where to hunt in that region... And many people over that way get testy about " thier " crown land... I've been considering a guided hunt somewhere else in canada... On the plus side I have seen them out towards my WMU so maybe one day they will be where we are
