What don't you like about the Novak night sights? Personally, I think they're one of the better configurations available...

I'm not a fan of night sights, or any 3 dot sight. I much prefer a clean crisp sight picture with just a black ramp up front and nothing on the rear sight.

Capp325, I guess it depends on what is considered loaded. Its nicely accessorized with a well fit beavertail, ambi safety, full length guide rod, etc. But its missing a few things that I would expect on a loaded gun such as a checkered frontstrap and a magwell. Also the trigger pull on this 1911 could use some work. Its pretty crisp but its also fairly hard compared to a loaded 1911 at 3 pounds.

Once I get it home and out to the range I will post some thoughts on the gun.

Springfield actually has a model called "Custom Loaded", which looks like your gun. That's what I meant.

If you're looking through the sights during the day, you just use the square edges of sight unit to line things up - never the dots. Bonus is that, if you concentrate hard enough, you won't even see the dots after a while...;)

PS. IMHO you should just leave them as they are...

I wont be changing them anytime soon, but I have been a fan of Heinie Straight 8 sights for about 10 years and its the type of sight picture I prefer. I have them on my 1911s and Glocks, But the Novaks are something for me to play with.
