Howdy all.Now the Marstar is sending out the latest batch of goodies, how do they compare to the last batch? How about posting pictures/reviews.Inquiring minds need to know. Thanks
The one I got (going to Dad on father's day, cool eh?) was around 5 thou over (pretty tight compared to lots that I've seen) good engagement on the lugs, and the stock was quite a nice wood.
If they're all like the one my dad's getting, I wish I bought a bunch for myself out of this shipment!
yup, that was a nice specimen yer dad's gettin.... we had it on the bench and checked it all out. Headspace was great for a norc and nice even bearing on the lugs..... but hey misanthropist..... we forgot the headspace guage in the chamber of yer dad's rifle hehehe.... let me know when ya find it
I'm no gun expert of any means but the quality is better then I expected. I also took it to the range and with some cheap 150grain federal ammo I was hitting a 8x8" metal gong at 200yards 100% and i'm by no means a good shot. Very happy with everything, only thing I dont like is the sights, also I'm having a hard time locking in the 5shot mags, bigger ones were np.
The one I received from this shipment is definitely better than the one from the last shipment. The M14 from this shipment does not have any of the problems the last one had. The front sight is machined properly, barrel index is fine, op rod guide is fine...all these were a problem on the last one. I'm happy. Looking forward to getting the headspace checked ect.
Overall I have no complaints.. What I expected.. Barrel is off kilter a bit about 11:58 or so. Was told the barrel had been over torqued, haven't checked the headspace checked yet to see if thats the reason. Doesn't matter much anyways, Im having new wood put on it and having it accurized so that will all come out in the wash. Overall, great rifle for the price!
Finish looks much smoother on latest sample rifle compared to earlier models. Comes with a nice users manual.Only issue so far was a very loose op-rod guide. Easily fixed with some dimpling.
Mine from the last batch had a tight op rod guide, 2 ive seen from this batch the guide was very loose, and both sides of the split roll pin holes were peened.
Hey Guys...I am wondering if it is worth getting another one,...as an investment? Bring on the smart arse remarks....
I am not trying to make money on buying an extra rifle, cause I really like the Norinco M14, but will it be valuable someday and how rare will they become?
