Hi all!..I recently aquired a 1943 dated Tula 91/30 with the hex reciever...and can confirm that the reciever is also dated 1943..This is the latest 91/30 hex I have seen aside from a '45 dated M44 in the collection....Anyone else have one with a late date ?..I'm curious....Cheers.. R...

^^. This is correct.

According to "The Mosin-Nagant Rifle" by Lapin ( a cheap handy reference for collectors), the hex was last produced in 1936. The actions were recycled for years, especially during the Great Patriotic War. As noted, there are even examples of M38 and M44 carbines made on reused hex actions.

My apologies if I'm belabouring the familiar, but the next time you have the action out of the stock, look on the underside of the tang for the date of manufacture of the receiver (unless it's been scrubbed in refurbishment).

Regards,
Joel

I think OP was referring to tang date when he said received is 43 dated. Picture would be nice, most likely it just scrubbed and overstamped.
