Probably because the Garand is sort of unique in that it is loaded with an 8 round enbloc clip, and someone probably told the powers to be at the time that the Garand would not work without the 8 round clip. I may be wrong here, if so someone chime in.

I think he should have waited until after they pass their BS down in the states (if they do) if they write in it hi capacity clips, (and lets face it american politicians are more dumb then ours so they just might) there would be a loop hole the size of Texas in that legislation.

In the US media there has been a lot of talk about magazines and clips. I think he made this video for politicians and journalists so they would know what they were talking about. Normally they don't, when it comes to guns.

He's a school teacher, so his way of explaining things might reflect that sometimes.
