I know there is always interest on here in lathes and we all want one or anopther so I just wanted to give any potential lathe purchasers to be careful with Lathe Master Lathes.

After lots of research I decided that I would be needing a Lathe Master 8x14.
Looked like a great alternative to the 7x12 or 9x20 options.

So I wrote to sort out what shipping would be as I the web site says 250USD shipping to nearest customs house.

Long story short if you order a Lathe Master Lathe from Lathe master you can expect a very very expensive surprise and the propriotor seems to have no interest at all in being helpful.

If the kind of responses I got on sales inquires are any indication of what to expect for after sale service I would warn all budding CGN hobby gunsmiths to avoid the above mentioned company.

Trans border shipping, especially by a courier, is a cost on a cost.

Brokerage fee's are a killer, too.

At least you were wise enough to do your homework first!

If you are looking at the Chinese lathes, you might as well shop from the closest Canadian dealer, unless you are able to drive to the area that the US dealer is in, and pick up. (or have friends that you can ship to on the US side)

Cheers
