I'm in Alberta and am a member of a shooting range. I am about to purchase my first restricted firearm and would like some information on how to apply for, or word, the ATT that gets sent to the CFO so it is valid for all ranges, gunsmiths etc. in the Province. Another member of the range I joined said each member has to submit the ATT form themselves. I work shift work and sometimes I will not be able to shoot at the range I am a member of but their is another range that I can shoot at without being a member, just pay a day fee.

Do I have to list every club, gunsmith in Alberta on the ATT form or is their am easier way to request this? Seems getting the LATT would save paper work and hassle.

Thanks in advance

Not sure about Alberta, but my LTATT issued by BC CFO does indicate that I am allowed to transport my restricted firearms from/to "All approved shooting range", and "All gunsmith / business for repairing"

Latt

The LATT in Alberta is valid for transport to all approved ranges , licensed gunsmiths, and border crossings in Alberta. When you buy your restricted firearm the dealer will probably call the CFC who will transfer the request to the Alberta CFO for a temporary so you can transport it home. You then will have to call the Alberta CFO and request the long-term ATT. I would think that this would even apply to pay by day ranges if you are not a member but maybe just clarify that with the CFO to be safe.

I went to the CFO office in Surrey, BC to fill my application form. They helped me to fill out the form and processed both my temp and LTATT that same day.
