Law Tactical AR Folding stock adapter

I can see where it is practical for storage or covert carry.

I dig it.

I also like the PDW Stock coming from NEA.

This is good for two things.

1. Transport
2. Looking cool

Interesting concept but afew flaws.

1. As previously stated by other members cannot be fired when stock is folded (making the firearm essentially into a paperweight when the stock is folded)
2. I can see if it gets dropped hard enough (especially if the rifle gets alot of use) the buffer spring popping out at which point your not going to have a good time
3. Finally dont see a place to mount a QD sling swivel or some sort of place to attach a single point sling (which is a small but easy fix)

Can see this doing alrite with the tacticool crowd but I dont see any practical use that would justify the purchase.

Good point #1: The system is designed for transport.
Flaw #1: It's not meant to be fired while folded.
Flaw #3: At least on the gen.2, there is a QD sling mount on the bottom of it.

I have numerous firearms with folding stocks. I think I've fired them with the stock folded all of 3 times and that was just for poops and giggles.

A rifle without a stock is useless.

Gun can fire when closed -- in fact the retaining pin for the carrier can take 7.62NATO on a SR-25 while folded (Note this was not done by KAC).

What a few of you don't seems to grasp is that it gives the M16FOW the ability to break down smaller for transport/concealability. This is key for certain entities than cannot run a new weapons program for either logistical or budgetary reasons.

There are better options IMO. The idea of a gun that will break itself if fired with the stock folded yet there being no mechanical method of preventing the gun from firing in that position is incredibly stupid and short sighted. Its not a question of "if" but only "when" that will occur. And while they may have tested it a few times, all it takes is a bit of wear or dirt and the bolt carrier will come flying out the back of the receiver and seriously injure someone. I cannot see any government agency willing to take such risks.

My other beef with side folders is they may reduce OAL but they make the weapon twice as wide which is just as much of a PIA.

Nice design, but no thanks. I'd just go with a shorter barrel and push the stock all the way in.

He's a former USSS agent, while I dont see the green role viability for .Mil folks, it definitely has a role elsewhere.

I believe I heard somewhere that US Secret Service agents always carry concealed and are usually very well armed… hmmm…

Well, either the thing is safe, or they are going to be sued into oblivion. Something tells me they would have their ducks on a row…

What about piston driven Ar's? Should be no problem, yes? I want one for a cz with an Ar stock, the folder would be handy, and still retain the stock that I like.

Putting it on a CZ or other similar system shouldn't be a mechinical problem because the stock is NOT part of the operation of the system. But on most AR-15 piston systems, the stock is still a major part of it operating properly. Of the AR-15 uppers that don't need buffer tubes of some sort: I only know of two: the RRA PDS, and the Z-M weapons LR-300. And to my knowledge they are both pretty uncommon-to-rare.

For transport I can kind of see the use but there are much better options for this like going down to a shorter barrel or even grabbing a AR stock specifically made to be collapsible (that doesnt have the internals open as this option does)
And it still does not eliminate the potential issue of the buffer spring coming out if the rifle is dropped or bumped on something. Or the issue of dirt or other krap getting in the rifle with the internals being open like that.
Would have to see the a test of firing to believe that the BCG wont smack me in the face but I only see that ending in lawsuits.
With all that said though I disagree with you on this product I have nothing but respect for KAC you guys put out some awesome equipment.
