I carry a swiss army knife attached to a carabiner, on my belt loop in plain old sight. Nobody bats a eye.

You'll be surprised how useful and common a knife is in the country. Mine even has a pen, and great for crossing out the grocery list. Last week I used the cork screw to pull up a 95# magnet I dropped on the metal shelving at the hardware store, trying to match up some brass screws. Then the tweezers when I dropped the brass nut bins.

They are definitely great Tools, I carry a 5 inch Kabar Tanto perpendicular on my belt. Will be even more useful next year when Trudope bans single use plastics.

I only carry fixed blade while walking the dog, since I won't have 2 hands to open the blade. Never know if you are going to encounter a coyote, or disgruntle ATV'er. I just carry my uncles Puma Skinner.

But I have been suspended from school for having a multi tool. I was in the reserves while in Highschool and well a multi tool is useful. So I carried my issued one. I took it off at the start of school and threw it in my locker, and went on my day, and then after put it back on, it fell out of my locker, and someone ratted me out. The sad thing was the blade was broken, and be as useful as a butter knife.

I had a kid pull a knife on me, and bashed him with a rock. I got expelled. I had alot of encounters rolling my eyes, or you got to be ####ting me.

Guess things are much different in the country, than the city.

My boy got in trouble in grade 10 for showing off his skills with his butterfly knife comb, he can really flip that thing around. They wanted to charge him with bringing a weapon to school which didn't work out for them, but it is still on his school records I'm told.

Oh noes, not his school record. College isn't any better.. I went back as an 29 year adult.. It's just as stupid as HS.

Is it a good protection for juice box square thingies?

When they get aggressive, absolutely.

Hold on to that "Country Serenity" as long as you can and fight the "Urban Sprawl", There is no replacing it once its gone. :( Crazy times.

A "school record"... I think that unfortunately, his life is over.
Yup the dreaded school record.LOL The thing that kills me about it all is that he has probably hunted, field dressed, butchered and packaged more game in his life then his teacher has ever ate and did it with real, sharp knives. Every fall he misses a few days to week of school for outdoor education, as I tell them when I take him out of school, to help out filling the freezer with meat for the year. This year I have 2 Cow Elk and a Mullie Buck tag to fill, he will be helping ever step of the way and really enjoys doing it. Now that he's 16, and really likes cooking, he has to impress us with his cooking skills as well which has turned out to be another bonus for me because I have always cooked for the family. I guess I'm getting a bit off topic now.

Yet a teacher can molest multiple students at different schools and still continue to teach. How "FU" is that.

Don't get me started on "Detentions"
