I picked this Bushnell Bore site tool off Ebay. I'm so glad I did. It makes things so much easier. There is NO guess work trying t figure out where or how to aim your hand gun. "this bore site tool will show you exactly where your gun is going to shoot, and how far your Iron sites are out" My nork 45 was dead on. My Taurus was dead on. Get one, it will save you TONS of frustration.

Just got my Scope mount for my Taurus..so I figured I would do it to. The scope was a MILE out!! Would have taken forever. Just 3 minutes with the Bore site tool.

I use a Sitelite myself, they are great for getting rifles onto paper, but you still need to finetune your optics once your done.

Ya I've heard a lot people say "just look through the barrel" but that doesn't work on a lot of firearms, that and it can be a pain. The laser bore sighter takes all of two minutes. Most of that two minutes is trying to find the damn thing. Only negative thing I have to say is the switch can be very sensitive and sometimes gets turned on just by moving it.
 
looking down the barrel works ok sometimes for 30 cal and up but gets hard for smaller bores.

It would also be good to take on a long hunt to check your scope after a bump or plane travel. Looks small enough.

What about those cartridge type lasers, are they any good?
 
I was just checking out the LazerLite bore siterz. They come with alittle leveler to help mount your scope as well. Seems like it would be a good addition to the bore siter.

I just they would just make one that did 17 cal to 50 and just not 22-50. arg
 
Are these things nice and soft with no danger of damaging the crown? I was also looking at the magnetic ones as well as the ones you chamber. Intuitively it would seem the ones that go in the chamber would give the truest line of the barrel.
 
Read some reviews on Amazon, boy it's either a love/hate from the owners, did you get the model that "twists" to turn it on? (newer)

I think the negatives are the ones that expect precision from lining up the crosshairs with the red dot. Unfortunately it doesn't work that way, and the end user still has to do their part in getting the shot dead on with final adjustments.
