LB butt plate

I have just bought a 1950 LB and it has a studded but plat that I assume it is for grip on the shoulder but I have not been able to find any information or even pictures. Can anyone tell me about this

I have examined target No4s with the plate scored with a chisel. A private mod.

Is there any reason this mod is done other than grip

Incidentally, the correct buttplates for your parkerized 1950 are easy to find. Boxes and boxes of them have been floating around for years, brand new.

Havent tried loading up pictures yet. Mine seems to be blued not parkerized if that makes a difference
