I have been out of the hobby due to medical issues. My No.5 is stock and has the normal 10 shot magazine. Is it legal to use and sell? Also is there limits on lever action magazines. I searched and it seems they are legal but this gun grab is confusing.

Nothing has changed with regards to mag capacities. Your LE is still non-restricted and can be used or sold, the 10 round LE mag is still legal and manual action centerfires have no mag capacity limits.

There's an exemption written in to the regulations which are still in force that regardless of what type of action the Lee Enfield magazine is attached to so long as it holds 10 rounds of ammunition it was designed to function with, it cannot be a prohibited device. I'm surprised nobody further developed that concept for the current semi-auto market over the last 25yrs.

Traditional .303 Lee Enfield mags aren’t exactly the best for semi-autos and how people would want to do mag changes.

We did basically have this with the AIA 7.62 (.308) mags and how they would fit in the M305s. But seeing as those are prohibited that isn’t possible anymore.

Plus you cannot design a new semi-auto which could take a magazine about 5rds under the new evergreen clause in the law so that kills it. As does the fact we are such a small market and by time your done R&D, started to ramp up production, and are ready to go they prohibit the firearm.
