LE No1 MK 111* mag?

I just picked up a sporterized No1 Mk111* without a magazine, and my cut-down mag from my Parker-Hale No4 MK2 doesn't fit. Do I need a No1-MK111* mag, or will any of the mags fit? TIA,KD

Usually you can get a No4 to work, though they fit like crap. Using a No1 magazine is much better.

No1 Mk III mag

Hi All;

Can one of you Enfield buffs please post a picture of a No1 Mk III mag? I have a couple of mags that although they "fit" my No 5 none are exactly the same.

"...will any of the mags fit..." Any No.1 MkIII mag should fit.
No. 5's take a No. 4 mag.
Go here and look at the drawings. Good picture of both types of mag. The locking lugs on the back particularly. One lug on the No. 4 mag. Two on the No. 1.

Your mag as sunray suggested is probably missing the right side lug in the picture.

lol,all this time and i never knew there was a difference between no.1 and no.4 mags.

Also be careful which one you use in your hunting rifle. I forget which wrong one does it, but at the first shot it will fall out from the recoil and the bear may not wait 'till you pick it up!
