I recently bought 100 455 Webley cases. Mixed in the brass I found this bullet.

It appears to be a commercially made bullet. Looks like something Speer or Hornady would make. It weighs 265 gr and measures about .452 The skirt looks like it would obdurate the bore well.

Anyone know what it is and where it can be purchased?

I think they're hornady metric (which would be ironic consideric the calibre is in inches) or hornady custom. Webley MK-II ammos. Trav70's box were probably pulled from 5 boxes. I'm not sure you'll find them anywhere. Maybe if the bullets came from somewhere else you might get lucky.

Sorry can't help more.

Yes, that sure looks like my bullet. Now I know what to look for.

I just loaded some of my 255 gr 45Colt bullets and the quick test showed excellent accuracy with 3.5gr of 231. have not chonogrphed yet.

But if they keep shooting well, I have found a cheap bullet that works in my gun and is easy to find.
