Hello All,

I bought three RCBS Moulds. My question is what diameter do I size the bullets to for optimum performance.

1) 458 caliber mould 405 grain flat point gas checked
2) 458 caliber mould 300 grain flat point gas checked
3) 30 Caliber 180 grain flat point gas checked

I have a couple of 308 win rifles, and a couple Marlin 45-70s I would like to fire them in once I get them cast and sized. If anyone can help me out I would appreciate it.

You could use the Lee bullet sizers. Use the .311 for the .308 and the largest available size for the 45 - 70. A few thousandths larger will make no difference to either caliber. Too small is more of a problem. The .308 should not be a problem. If the sizer for 45 - 70 is too small, try using a fast powder and a soft alloy to "bump" the bullet up a little. If that doesn't work, you can either load your bullets unsized or buy a custom sizer from Lee. Go carefully with the bumping up if it's necessary.

Both of my Marlin's like .460, if your Lee sizer is too small just open it up. Do a google on , you guessed it, opening up a Lee sizer. If you are going to cast for a few calibers look at NOE's sizer. Slick unit, he does ship to Canada.
