Shot 10 rounds of a new test boolit today, .452 boolits (lee 230RN TL), powder coated, no scraping when inserting boolit. Gets swaged to .4515 when inserting into case.
Simply taper die to close the flare as little as possible to chamber. bullet OAL is set at 1.260 to chamber. pass plunk test.

I didn't really seem to get leading with those 10 rounds. Will have to try more.

Accuracy wasnt that great, and why do I get that lead ring around the case? never got that before.

Maybe I should enlarge the die to .4525, so they end up being swaged a bit to .4520 when inserting, and bore is .4515.

Comments?

looks fine to me, just a bit of carbon build up. would need a better picture to see what's actually there, but the grey line looks like a reflection.

i assume your gun was clean before shooting? and that the case was clean before shooting? what was the powder and charge?

based on what you've said i wouldn't worry about it, shoot 50-100 more and see what they look like.

it's not a reflection, it's a gray line, and it was like that around all 10 cases, and they didnt have this before. never did that.

Barrel was clean, and it had some streaking after 10 rounds, but hard to tell because minor buildup after 10 rounds cleans in a few passes anyway....

I'm getting a bit parano on streaking and I see leading streaks everywhere.

4.5 bullseye
