For 12 ga and most 20ga, that is true. For 410 16ga and 28ga, I can load my own cheaper. Hummason is the cheapest, Lowry's is good. I buy mine at Ellwood Epps because they are local and shipping is expensive on 25 lb bags of shot.

There's the three I would use, Hummason, Lawry and Ellwood Epps. I'm not sure where the OP is located but that's probably the most important factor.

I haven't bought it in a while. I think the last time I bought was from John Emmett at $28 a bag. Yes, it was that long ago. Prices are crazy today.

There is/was a fellow in north central AB that I dealt with that has a dripper. I dealt with him in a 2 for one on ingtots for shot. Can't for the life of me remember his name or number. Maybe if you are on nutz shoot me a pm cause I wnt some more shot

Watch the shows, auctions and garage sales. You might luck out at less than $2.00 a lb. Garage sale maybe next to nothing. Heavy stuff to lug back in the house.
