Seems high to me but maybe I'm stuck in pre shortage times.

A local place will sell wheel weights to me for 50 cents a lb, but I'm not sure what amount of lead I will get from it yet. So maybe 1.50 per lb tops.

No. Definitely not!

The last factory lead shot that I purchased was less than $40 per 25 lb bag. That works out to $1.60 a pound.

Cheapest lead shot I have seen in the last year was $75/25lb bag at Bass Pro!

If your melting it down to cast its not a deal. If your keeping it to load shot shells I don't know. But then again I don't think iv ever bought lead for my casting but iv heard 1$ a pound thrown around a lot.
