I've put this in the black rifle section since they show a 24" barrel version meant to be easily transported and even shot off hand. Please move if this is the wrong section.

That cool looking bullpup Semi auto 50 BMG that Sabre Defence was showing at shot show is going into production. Micor industries will be producing it.

It looks like the designer spent time working for Barrett and has come up with this design. Some features: Triangle bolt out of top grade metal (I don't know much about metal but that's the claim). A good trigger ie worked around like all the new bullpups coming out. Also a fixed barrel with a gas system. Accuracy was apparently taken into consideration as they wanted this rifle to keep up with the bolt 50 Bmg rifles.

Retail Price: $6800 US.

Now here's the problem. US. So no export to us. This is a 50 I would love to own with the 29" barrel version.
I would really like one of these. :(. What do you mean 50 BMG is a no go for export? This is clearly chambered for 12.7x99mm not 50 BMG!!! Yes I know I doubt it would work but I can dream.

Anything .50 and bigger is a No-No for export from the US... Including ammo and components, parts, etc... The only exception is shotguns and antiques AFAIK.

Plus 12.7x99 IS .50 BMG!!


Get the new Lynx GM-6 available from Tactical Imports, one of the CGN sponsor! It too is a bullpup with short barrel and it is easilly fired from the standing position!

Yes I'm aware of that which is why I mentioned it and then joked about the mm version.

The Lynx is 13k. Pretty close to twice as much. Also look at the design and goals of the Leader 50. They are going after accuracy that can keep up with a bolt gun. Unlike the Lynx and Barrett semis. Considering the cost of these rifles and the cost per round I think accuracy is important.
 
Looks like a hunk of garbage, cheap stamped sheet metal sides, cheap sites, cheap grip/pod. What do you get for $6800?
 
Apparently it's 17 pounds empty compared to 30 for the Barrett. Recoil is said to be the same as a 30-06. No doubt substantial blast from that brake.

It doesn't look like a hunk of garbage to me. The grip and flip up sights seem to be there to show the clean lines and that it can be shot off hand. At 30 pounds some of us could do that with the Barrett but not for long. I don't see the way they have it set up as the primary set up. I see it as more of a concept and advertising set up.

That being said I plan on adding a front grip/bipod setup on my RFB. I think that's a more practical firearm for that application.

Again Id want the 27" version.
 
The Serbu BFG-50A is approved for import in Canada; even classed as non-restricted, but the problem is the US State Department as mentioned

Wow, 50 bmg with a 24 inch tube and muzzle brake. Imagine the belching flames and blast! That would sure be quite an experience emptying the magazine firing offhand.

Yes it would. Your wallet also empties at the same time. Side rails on a 50 BMG are for mounting the automatic debit machine. It's sort of like pay at the pump. Your bank account conveniently drains at each squeaze of the trigger.

I thought the Serbu one was an AR based rifle? I like the looks.

The gas system is similar to that used on a Ljungman AG-42 or MAS 49/56.

So it does use DGI, but it's not AR based.
