I was going through the Marstar site for the first time and came across their scopes.

What do you think of them?

It would be installed on a Savage model 200 in 223 rem.

Anybody have any problems or bad after market support warranty problems?

We were one of the first companies to import Leapers into Canada and still carry many of their products which are excellent value for the money. The only scopes we carry on a regular basis are the compact scopes intended for the SKS as these have improved somewhat over the years. We found the other scopes in their line did not sell that well especially the higher magnification ones. We found that less expensive otics sold better with a brand name like Tasco, Bushnell or Simmons. The Leapers scopes are still a good value as long as the vendor will assist with warranty as they have to be repaired in the USA.

The biggest problem with cheap optics is the mechanical guts are not up to par with quality stuff.

OK here we go again lots of "expert" opinions, I trust from owners ?

Do you really think Marstar would sell something that, as you say, is s**t ?

How could we offer the guarantee which we do ? Please read it.

We have sold 1000s of Leaper scopes the return rate is less than 0.5%

BTW check out the factory which makes them and notice how many "name brands" come from the same facility....

I guess I'm in that .5% where I had to return a Leapers 6x9 mildot.
However I was pleased with the speedy return service from Marstar.
No probs since with the replacement.

 

[Wrong Way]

I've owned two. They are NOT on par with the high end scopes, but they do work well enough and for the money they represent a decent value.
My complaints are few: Eye relief was too short for my liking (says 3.5"...more like 2.5) and the mildot reticle was too coarse (thick) for my liking.

But hey...for 100 bucks what do you want?

On that note, I also just bought one of the M4 clones from jaksyd at 1337tactical.com, and while I havent used it on a rifle yet, my initial impressions of this scope are very positive. Looks as clear as any elite I have used, and seems well put together.
