I'm embarassed somewhat to post this but hopefully someone will learn from my mistake. I have 2 rifles in 6.5 X 55. One is a WW I Swedish Mauser, the other is a custom F-class target rifle. I had 50 once fired brass (bought new) neck sized, primed ready to load (the first firing was from the target rifle). A few weeks ago a local range had a Service rifle shoot so I loaded up 50 rounds for the old Swede. Went to the shoot and came home with 50 spent casings. So I size and trim and load up a batch for my F-class. I get to the range yesterday, and I was finding it a little hard to close the bolt. I thought I got my bullet length wrong and was forcing the bullet into the rifling. After firing I really had to fight to open my bolt for each and every round. At home sitting at the reloading bench looking at my dies and
I didn't full length size the brass ! I used the neck die. So as reloaders know, never, never use brass in another rifle unless you full length size it (on newer rifles you may get away with it - or not). It is obvious the old army rifle has a slightly larger chamber than my F-class. So learn from my mistake and avoid the hassle of a very tight bolt.
