Hey all. Hoping to get a Kimber Eclipse. 5" barrel.

What would you guys recommend for a concealed carry style rig? Leather. Can be thumb break or open top. Hip style.

I shoot IDPA style stuff, so I'm looking for the concealed carry kind of thing. Not tactical.

Looked on the net and I'm seeing lots, but the confusion has set in.......

I'm partial to inside the waistband carry, and for IDPA I use a Milt Sparks Summer Special for 1911 and BHP. I also had a High Noon leather IWB for my Sig 226. Both are top notch. I like Galco and Bianchi for belt carry too, either a pancake style or belt slide style. Never been a fan of kydex, but the price is right, and they are fast. I avoid thumb breaks, since most leather rigs meet retention standards without them. I think The Shooting Edge stocks some of the High Noon leather holsters.

I agree with pjnorth, the Milt Sparks Summer Special for a 1911 is a great IWB holster. I think you can order them form the Brownells webiste (www. brownells.com) For concealment, you can't beat an IWB, and leather in my experience is the most comfortable.

Milt sparks summer special are excellent.
Galco IWB are on par.
ARG by Mitch Rosen are great(Expensive but worth it) ###ier that the rest.
If you have the patience Horseshoe leather out of England is the best leather
I ever used (he has a websight )but long waite times.

regards

I use a Galco combat master in IPSC... very nice leather and good fit. Not a thumbreak. Form fitting, non paddle type. I ordered direct from Galco. Good service.
