Hey guys , I can't seem to find any decent holsters for uberti pistols or any other single action pistol. You would think that uberti would make holster to go with their pistols. Anyone know where to get decent nice leather holsters?

thanks

Joe Laroche of Laroche Leather makes some nice stuff in Gatineau. He has made 3 semi holsters for me, as well as a revolver holster with an adapter to wear it as a dropped leg rig, holster belt, multi tool pouch, wallet, ring holder for the range, and a cowboy holster and belt rig.

If you are looking for a rig for CAS, get one that is designed for action shooting. They are made for holstering, drawing, reholstering ... not just carrying the pistols. They can take the abuse, and they are usuakky flared at the top to help guide a fast reholster.

Try:
Mernickleholsters.com
Kirkpatrickleather.com
Evilroy.com

They aren't cheap, but they don't have to break the bank either.

I personally use a Mernickle Evil Roy rig with a 2" drop. It's my third rig, and by far the best one yet.

Custom is certainly nice. But if you're OK with a budget option a buddy and I have had great results using the $150 rigs from Leather Town USA for the past year. They are holding up excellently with no signs of any troubles other than looking nice. The holster and belt are both double layered/fully lined.

Bob Mernickle make`s very good cowboy action holsters. Bob used to be based out of Langley BC, but is now working out of Nevada.

Make your own.:)This is my very first atempt working with leather. I bought all the tools and pattern for under $100.00 It took 3 days to make. Now I have something very personal to hand down after I'm gone.;)

I bought the wife a setup from Black Hills Leather, very good quality but it took 3-4 months to get it by mail from Texas. Well worth the wait though.

I bought one of Rudi's rigs almost 10 years ago. They have stood up well in the years of CAS.
Good to deal witt.
I bought a left and a right hand holster plus a right hand strong side cross draw to match the rig.
I use the cross draw exclusively, since I don't want to fumble or drop a firearm, switching it from my left side to the right hand. (That will earn you a DQ, stage or match depending on whether it is loaded or empty under SASS rules.)
With a cross draw, there a little "dance" required, designed to keep the muzzle down range, and you must raise your left arm to ensure you don't sweep yourself.
By also having a spare strong left side holster, matching my rig, I can switch my prefered set-up if the range I am shooting on has an issue with a cross-draw set-up.
Have a look at the Single Action Shooters website www.sassnet.com for the rules, classifications and costume requirements before you buy things.
Good luck and welcome to the fun.

+1. My CAS rig is a Laroche set. He does great work and he's quick too.

I could not agree more. Make sure to get an sass-legal rig. Unless you target B-western, avoid buscalero rigs. I have one to practise fast draw for fun, but they are not the best choice for cas.

Also, double strong side is less dq-prone than cross draws.

Oh, another thing is not all cas-clubs are gaming tolerant so you might get a lot of grief for running some of the mernickle rigs that bear not even a passing resemblance to anything worn pre-1897.

I just realized the op did not ask about cas. If you only want decent leather, there are lots of mexico-made rigs out there that at nice enough for range bling ;)
