I have never personaly owned a firearm before so im looking into buying one for myself. Im thinking of getting a lever action, so if anyone could tell me of any good ones at a VERY GOOD price id apretiate that. Thank You.

Any specific models that I should look for, or are they all going to perform just as good as the others?

The Henry Arms Lever .22 is another good bet, selling for a bit over $250 at SIR. I have only fired mine once at some silhouette targets but found it a pleasant rifle to shoot. The wood was nice walnut and the piece looked well made.

Marlin 39

The Marlin Model 39 is a good, reliable rifle. Not sure that I'd consider them cheap though, $530.00 @ Wholesale.

The 39 was my first rifle, should probably be yours too.:)

Since you capitalized very good price, I will second the Henry lever action .22s. They are fantastic guns for the money. They sell in the $250 - $300 range, depending on the model. I have one of the carbines with a 16" barrel that is always strapped to my backpack and it's a fantastic little rabbit/squirrel gun. For the price, they can't be beat.

The henry's are nice for the price.
I'd look at this model as it has nicer sights and a nicer feel then the base model.

The pump version looks like a sweet rifle too......

I bought one of these a few years back for a cheap .22 to throw in the quad box while out hunting. It is a great little gun and very accurate. I have taken a pile of grouse with it and I am sure many more to come.

Had a 94/22 which was an amazing little lever, I wish I never sold it . But at the price of it I didnt like to thrash on it too hard, much easier to do with the Henry, mostly because of the price I guess. Both are very good quality.

Just keep an eye open for a used Marlin or Win. Believe it or not, some people hardly ever shoot their rifles, or sometimes just want to get rid of them. Really! So you can find a used rifles in very good condition for a good price. Check your local buy&sell or paper. If you want to get a good deal on a good rifle here, you've got to be quick! Very quick!

Personally, I'd wait for the Marlin or Winchester rather than a new Henry, regardless of price.

I have always wanted a Henry golden boy. One day, it might even happen too :)

looking for a lever

another choice if you want the handling of a lever but the handiness of a clip is the ruger or if you can find one an old marlin model 56.I have one and it will outshoot my browning blr any day.solid walnut and all steel construction, plus an excellent trigger.

What do you have against the Henry?
