Lee 4 die set 308 win

Thanks gentlemen!
Blargon, no, only shot some paper with 180 MRX.
Why do you say the 150s and 165s are more suited to 308 speeds?
I’ve shot a few whitetails with the 7mm RM, 150 TSX and TTSX, and had good results.
The 308 is a new rifle, the Savage 11 Scout with an 18 inch barrel, so looking to find a load for it.
The TTSX 180 is rated by Barnes for deer, elk and moose, so seems like an all around bullet for my purposes.

The 180 gr TTSX is not well-suited to the 308. It is a very long bullet, and takes up too much of the case volume. The TTSX also needs speed to work best - and the 180 will be too slow out of the gate in the 308. The 150 gr TTSX (or even the 130) is plenty fine moose medicine, and much better for 308 case capacity and speeds.

You will have (in my opinion) too slow a speed out of the gate for the ttsx to be effective. The 180 ttsx is really long and will have to be seated very deep to make the max overall length for .308win. Plus you are using a short barrel which also limits top velocity. As stayed already, a 130/150gr ttsx is plenty enough bullet for moose. It also can achieve the speed needed in a .308win case to be effective. Remember, they keep almost 100% weight after impact. If you MUST load a 180gr bullet, try a bonded lead core. They are shorter so they dont take up too much powder room in the case, and mushroom better at lower speeds. Such as the accubond bullet.

A 180grn monometal bullet is about as long as a typical 200grn or 210grn lead core bullet. It'll seat really deep in a 308. It's more appropriate for a magnum calibre than a 308.

Thanks for all the info, guys.
I’ve ordered some 150 grn TTSXs for the new 308.
Will order the dies soon, and work up a load.
Probably use up the 180 grn MRX I have if I have an opportunity for a close up shot in the next few weeks.
Otherwise, it’ll be the 150 TTSX in the 7mmRM.
