LEE 50th for xmas! now I need advice!

Got me the Lee 50th kit for xmas!
I'm planning on reloading for:

1.) 7.62x54r
2.) 30-06 (m1 garand)
3.) 45 acp
4.) 7.62x39
5.) 7.62x25 (TT33)

What do I need to buy *now* to load in these calibers?

I'd love powder suggestions too!
 
I'm dying to hear as I got the same thing for Xmas. I'll be loading 30-06 and hopefully 7mm-08 if I can convince the wife my son needs a gun.
 
There is already a thread on this kit in this forum. Anyway,

You will need:

-Dies for each caliber
-The measure rod for each caliber for the re-sizer
-Powder appropriate for loads you wish to use for each caliber
-Different primers appropriate for the calibers you wish to load
-If NOT purchasing LEE dies, you will need cartridge holders
-Bullets for each caliber

What I would recommend (see other thread for details):

$49 digital Sake Franklin Arsenal or MTM (both DS-750)
better case chamfer/deburring tool $12
Reloading block $7
Really good reloading manual. I recommend the Lymann one.

I think you'll find that the included instructions are virtually useless. Youtube offers tons of instructional videos for this particular kit that will probably help you as much as it helped me.

The ABC's of Reloading ... Get it, read it a couple times ... very informative book, written in a language anyone should be able to understand. :cool:
 
Dial vernier to measure length's.
LEE case trimmer's.
LEE lube.
The LEE scale is fine,I've been using mine for 25 year's and find it settle's down a lot faster now.

45 acp Lee Pistol Dies dont bother with guage (won't need to trim 45)
7.62x39 Lee Pace setter dies and Lee Case Length gauge

Lee Modern Reloading Manual and or Lyman #49 Manual
Lee zip trim to speed up trimming and chamfering cases
Imperial Sizing wax case lube
Digital Calipres to measure case/cartridge Length
Bench and 1/4" bolts for press
Safety Glasses
Primers, Powder, Bullets and reloadable cases
Tumbler and media sorter (not needed but nice
 
Lee Makes a Full Length Sizing Die, a collet neck sizing die, a Bullet Seating Die, and a Factory Crimp Die for .30-06

Pacesetter is the Full length sizer, seater, and crimp die + shellholder

Deluxe is Full length sizer and neck sizer and seater die + shellholder

RGB is Full Length sizer and seater (no shellholder)


The Neck die in the deluxe is intended more for bolt actions and single shots than levers or semis.

The Lee 50th Kit can feed a Garand very well.
 
You should be just fine without it. Many people do not crimp.

The Seater die allows you to roll crimp on bullets with a canelure (crimping groove on bullet) the factory crimp die squeezes the case so you can crimp with any bullet type.

Looks like I'll have to contact some of our vendors here and give em my shopping list.

And I think the garand will quite enjoy the Lee menu :)
