i recently purchased a lee 9mm carbide 3 die set
in my reloading manual it sais to follow the instructions from the die manufacturer to set them up properly.
but there was no instructions with the die set

how do you set your 9mm dies?
(decapping pin exposure, number of turns you turn the resizing die after its bottom touches the shellholder at the highest position, overall length of the cartridge, crimp....)

The decapping pin exposure from the factory should be fine. As long as it far enough out to push out the primer, you don't need it to be any further out.
The next question depends on the reloading press that you are using. If you are using a single stage press, then you can turn the sizing die in one or two turns, but if you are using a progressive (Lee 1000 for example), then the die must just touch the shell plate. You are probably best to have the resizing die just touch the shellholder. The overall length of the cartridge you will have to research yourself from the various loading manuals or other information. It will depend on the bullet you are using. Crimp will be sufficient to remove the bell put on the case to allow bullet seating, but anything more will depend on the bullet- you could use a bit more with lead, but you cannot with jacketed.
