Lee Anniversary kit Question

I got this kit today for christmas and was assembling everything and figuring out exactly how it worked. When I was all done there was a piece of aluminum with notches in each end and 2 screws can anybody tell me what this is for? I looked at everything that came with it and nothing says anything about it.:confused:
 
I found that mine attached to the side to deflect the primers onto the floor :p .

It does work, but I found it a PITA to clean out, and yes, some primers found a way to miss it.....alot :mad: . I use a simple attachment for mine. It's easy to use, clean-up is a snap and I had it laying around the house, waiting to be thrown out.

It fits like it was made for it, and it works like a charm.

I just put one screw in mine and when I need to empty, slacken the screw a turn and the plate slides off.

I'd like to use the box idea but my press is on the very edge of the desk.
