Merry Christmas all!

Need some real world experience with the following two Lee trim products. Respectful, only interested in those who use, or did, them.

- Lee Quick trim
- Lee 3 jaw chuck trim kit.

Have seen the usual (You Tube) reviews; large dose of salt in many cases needed.

Cheers and Yuletide greetings everyone.

I have some of the quick trim dies and cutter. They are fine if you are only doing a couple of different cases once and a while.

One issue I did find was that I wore out a quick die in 308 within a couple hundred cases. The cutter, if there is any side load likes to cut the die. Then starts to wobble and makes a crappy cut.

I went back to my old lathe style. Cuts better and can do any case size with a cheaper pilot vs a whole die. By the time you buy the cutter and half a dozen dies you could have bought a Forster trimmer kit. Which will last you years vs a few hundred cases.

I have used them both and while the Quick Trim is faster, the chamfering is not always great. Then I have to re-do the chamfering on the "3 jaw chuck"
The "3 jaw chuck" allows for quick case swap which makes it easy to use but not as fast as the QT.

I have a dozen or so of the quick trim kits. It seems to do better with some cases than others. Keeping the chips tidy is very important. I used to do pretty large volumes of .223 with a power-trim and cordless drill, I have a much better but very expensive setup for volume now.

I have been using the Lee Zip Trim with universal chuck and ball handle cutter with a Forster deburring tool for years. Not the fastest, but still gets the brass trimmed in a reasonable amount of time.

I have used the Lee Zip Trim for many years now. I load for 9 different rifle calibers . While the unit is not fast it does work well and I have never had an issue. Like most things in life, one will have great luck, one will have ok luck and one will have no luck at all. There are many trimmers out there that might be more adjustable and maybe quicker so it all comes down to preference. For me, I am good with it.
