hey has anyone ran into issue with lee factory crimp n straight walls, or any, coated lead projectiles ? my crimp is tight for the lever gun , im using a coated commercial bullet, black coating, looks similiar stuff to Hi Tek?
seeing signs of leading recently - there could be a few causes- just tried to catch a round in milk jugs but no luck- want to see what bulletl ooks like after going thru rifling-- but mayb it starts with the crimp?
due to the coating im not lubing the bullet.... perhaps should do this anyway now on an rise velocity a bit.
im shooting 20grains of 4198 over 245g bullet. in 375 win /38-55. the bullet is .375 tho, this might be some issue aka undersized
in the past i had no trouble with another coating, hi tek, gold, was using 28gr of 4198 for no leading-
company has changed hands between those rounds tho, so i suspect different somethinggg / coating/recipe.
they are Flat based with no GC , look similiar to missouri bullet co black ones..
hmm
