Any sin to remove and reblue ???

Not a sin in the normal sense, but to the Milsurp gods you would have committed one of the most blasphemous acts, short of hacking the stock off. And you will be blacklisted from the collectors community and dubbed Bubba. And Bubba's crown is a uncomfortable one. covered in spines and points that will make you life a living hell (most likely because its made of old beer cans, Budweiser most likely). So in short, leave it the way it is.

To do a thorough job of removing Suncorite, preparing the metal for a proper reblue, and then hot bluing would be a fine example of investing time and money in a project that would result in a rifle worth less than before you started. It would certainly result in one less collectable No.4 Mk.2 rifle. Some of these 1950s ex-British War Reserve rifles are in rather fine condition.
Suncorite is toxic prior to application. No idea what its cured dust is like, from an inhalation standpoint.

It was just a passing thought ;) The suncorite looks like it is chipped on the front barrel band. I haven't got the rifle yet, I have only seen pics.. I expect to get it next Mon. or Tues. I hope none of you guy's have a ulser or heart condition !!! ;) Don't worry to much, I won't change anything :)

IIRC you got an Irish Contract? It should be in good shape, most of them are.I bought mine in the wrap and it's a beauty. It might be interesting to share some pics when you get it.

Yes, it is a "Irish Contract" rifle. All matching everything, It looks like it's been around. I can't post pictures for some reason or other and I can't be bothered with "Photobucket"
