Does anyone know where to find Lee Enfield .303 magazines with the 20 round capacity? Are there only surplus mags, or is there anyone reproducing these?

If you ever find out who is making repro's let me know. Chances of finding an original are about as good as getting hit by lightening three times on a Thursday between 12 noon and 1pm while wearing your bright yellow polo shirt on the corner of Hastings and Main.

Here's a picture

As far as I know no one is making repros.

apparently on a ishy enfield you can modify the lips of a AK mag to fit. A guy on surplusrifleforum did it and posted pictures. i don't have a link but it's there.

20 Round LE Mags

I think I remember that some posters on this site (Riflechair?) were considering modification of Bren gun mags. David Thomlinson (late of NFA) once wrote an article that unpinned disassembled Bren gun mags were legal. I think that if you cut off the bottom of a LE mag and cut the top of a Bren gun mag and joined the two you would have a large capacity LE mag. Since the modified mag would no longer fit a Bren gun, this should be OK but ????.

.. Realistically, using a full length Bren Gun Magazine (30 rounds ) would be as "unwieldy" as all get out ! Even the 'Magazine, shortened to 20, would be cumbersome. Which is I guess, the reason they weren't all popular or widespread. ( I think the Germans tried the same sort of idea for Trench Warfare in WW1 )... David K

bolt action no need no pin.

Yes, it is going into a bolt gun, but it comes from a machine gun. It was designed for the machine gun, and it would become prohibited if left unpinned.

It has to be designed for the bolt gun. The AiA mag supposedly fits into the M14s. Ten round bolt gun mag into a semi is fine. Not the other way around.

"...what was it worth?..." No. 4 mags run about $30 to $35Cdn. No. 1 mags run about $40Cdn. The modified BREN mag, if you could find one, would be worth a bunch more. Can't say as I've ever seen one.
Like Vimy Ridge says, BREN mags are evil all by themselves. Only the original 10 round mags are exempt.
