So I came across this 1897 BSA long lee that’s been converted to a 22 trainer.
I have been able to find some info on it but looking for more from those more versed in this department.
It’s marked Sht22 II on left butt socket along with the N naval marking.
Bolt and front sight wings both marked as 22
Barrel is solid not sleeved and marked behind rear sight for HV ammunition.
Rear sight is calibrated for the 303 round and has not been over marked for .22 rimfire.
It still has volley sights and a magazine cutoff which I found strange.
Numbers are matching bolt, receiver, barrel fore stock and butt stock. No stock disk however…..
So my question ….. Does this seem original and as should be??
