Not to go on at great length, but years back when the brand-new-in-the-cosmoline 1950 Long Branch Lee's hit the market, I had to have one. Not only being a fan of Canadian military history, having handled, bought, sold, refurbed and loved the Lee Enfields, but it was also the year I was born. I had a beauty and the seller was an old militia buddy so he let me have it for $185. Well, I hit a bad patch some time back, and I had to sell off a lot of military items and other possessions just to keep my head above water. A good buddy bought my 1950 Lee with bayonet, spare mag, foresight adjusting tool, sling and spare milled rear sight for $325. (fair market at the time). Now that life is back to normal and all my re-adjustments have been made, I was able to look at getting some new toys. My best buddies put their heads together and asked my lady to contact the guy who bought my prized Lee to see if he'd sell it back to me, for fair market value, on the occasion of my 60th. birthday. As one buddy said, with the way I feel about this country, our history, and my own service, I'm the one guy who should most have a Long Branch Lee. Sadly, my other buddy wasn't prepared to part with the one he'd bought off me, but he did promise that should the day ever come when he'd consider letting it go, I'd have first right to buy. My lady and my buds all kicked in some cash, and I bought a beautiful 1949 Lee off the EE for $500., so once again I have a Canadian classic in my home. WELL GUESS WHAT!!!! I'm at the gun show in Pickering today, and I see a BRAND NEW 1950 Lee Enfield, unfired, for $425.!!! No more room in the safe, not enough cash on me anyway, and no way to justify having 2 in the house, so I could only sigh in heartbreak as I watched another guy buy look it over and buy it. Just thought I'd share!

They are nice rifles.

I put an ad in the free online Buy&Sell a few years back in Vancouver looking for a No.4 Mk 1 or 2.

I was pleasantly surprised when a nice fellow sold me a mint 1950 LB for $300.

He laughed when he looked at my PAL and realized it was close to my birthday. He smiled and said "Happy Birthday!"

It is one rifle I don't ever plan to sell.
