Hi

I have an 1943 lee enfield #4 mk1* long branch not bubbized looks all orginal and I was wondering if anybody knows what size washer goes under the head of the front trigger guard screw or does anybody have one?

The screw bottoms out and the trigger guard is loose it still has the bushing between the stock and the guard.

I was looking at the canadian military manual and it shows a washer under the screw head on page 3-2-11 figure 3-2-6.

Thanks
Peter

It still there and is full length. it the screw is bottoming out.

There is a special lockwasher that goes under the head of the kingscrew, or screw, front trigger guard. The bushing goes in first, then trigger guard, then washer, then screw. The washer does need to be there.
The triggerguard shouldn't be loose...wonder if the bushing tube is too long? There is a procedure for tuning the length of them.

I bought a handfull of little parts like that from Springfield Sporters, I've used up all the washers though, it seems many rifles are missing them. Number 55.
