I bought a bunch of LE parts awhile ago along with multiple butt stocks. Most were Longbranch. One stock I can’t identify. It is a #1 with multiple stamps on the right side. I figure someone on here would be able to help. Second picture is forward of the first one on the right side of the stock Has a brass butt plate and a stamped two piece sling swivel: The MA ? R? And HV? Something stamped above SMLE and above it is I think 3 letters with the last being A. I assume the dates are built and FTR or two FTR’s. I haven’t seen I stock stamped this way before. What do I have ?37B0DDAF-848A-420A-8447-7D236BC4A735.jpegC3EA3E2E-62A7-4735-9873-2742B8B8CC0F.jpeg

My guess is 1942 made SMLE sighted for the High Velocity round (Mk VIIZ) refurbished by Melbourne Arsenal
in July, 1945. I can't read what is above SMLE in your pic. John

MA is a post 1926 Lithgow manufacturer marking. Not Melbourne Arsenal

reported to stand for Munitions Australia

Information is appreciated. Thank you. I suspected Australian. Learned a couple things about markings.
When did they start stamping Australia on the bottom of the grip behind the trigger guard ? That stock doesn’t have it. I have a lithgow I plan on rebuilding and I plan to use that butt.
