i am looking to buy some parts for my newly acquired lee enfield and i am having trouble sourcing parts to revert it from its sporterized state back to its glorious war winning configuration has anyone here attempted this kind of project?

Advertise in the classified on this site. Parts for the No1 a difficult to source and priced accordingly. Ebay is a good source. Gunshows as well. Ron

Try sarco gunparts USA they have complete metal kits for the no 1 u have to call them and order they don't do orders online for customers outside US kits r around $48 plus shipping US $

thanks for the info great white i shot them an email about the parts i'd need i will be most likely getting the hardware kit from them. wodden parts hare pretty hard to find. does anyone know if there is detailed plans for the wooden parts anywhere i have acces to machining tools at work i'm thinking of making the missing parts but i would definitly prefer original parts.

just tought i'd share my progress so far and a couple pics i got a set of handguards off ebay i must admit i paid a pretty penny for it but hopefully it's gonna be worth it here's the link for pics https://imgur.com/a/Ei2qW first one is the sporterized base gun and second is from ebay. still waiting on news from sarco for hardware and still looking for a forend (might have a lead on ebay)

Try sarco they have wood furniture coming and going all the time// libertytree collectors // they use to ship no 1 forends but they stopped it all of a sudden // they will ship hand guards I'm after getting numerous// should of bought a load of stock sets for the no 1 off of numrich they were $59 for a complete set // hindsight is 20/20 // oh well

yeah i'm thinking of buying some no.4 wood kits before the get scarce. i've contacted all three of those sellers sarco will ship but only have hardware at this time, liberty will not ship to canada or take payment from a canadian source and numrich doesnt seem to have parts. i am hoping something will pop on ebay. there is a brand new forend on there at 400$ us and the auction isnt over yet.

All these folks have a list. Try to buy the items. Either not in stock or told those are old prices and here's what it really costs. If your looking at USA sites like the one mentioned here. It cost double to land it here. Been through this several times. Ron

Try Springfield Sporters. They have wood as well as general parts.

I just ordered a few things from them and 3 were missing. I called them and got a tired sounding guy who said "I'll ship them out?"... this was a couple weeks ago, nothing yet...

well it seems i found myself a forend after bothering just about everyone and their mother who might have had one this one comes with matching handhuards here's a pic https://imgur.com/gallery/k7gui hopefully them being a matching set will make their fitting easier. i will have more pics soon of the gun i havent had a chance to take pics much.

the11 if you're talking to me I'm looking for almost everything. I've only just begun my search. Forestock, handguards and nose cap most obviously though. Gun shows are what people tell me to hit up but I live down south in sask and the shows are few and far between.

Fwiw, that is a set of drill purpose wood that is also post-war luan mahogany from India with a no.4 type tie plate. This stock variant was only ever used in India.

Many of these were marked dp for having damaged draws. Pay close attention to that area as you may need to make a repair before installing that stock.

claven2 i'm gonna need the most basic explanation for what you just mentioned about damaged draws and how to fix/adjust it and the no.4 vs no.1 tie in plate. all my research on them just pretty much told me they were from india and were used for drill purpose. they are pretty much the only reasonably priced source to get a forend.from the pics i got from the dude selling it to me there apears to be no cracks in the wood and just little cosmetic damage. the whole thing is covered in a cosmoline type of preservation grease. as for my other handguards i'm looking into making a trade with someone but if it falls trough i'll pm interested persons.
