can anyone tell me what this no 4 Mk 2 lee enfield is worth? the bore is shiny with strong rifling, everything is numbers matching except for the bayonet. Serial # has "PF" in it.
comes with two stripper clips, non matching bayonet.

It always depends somewhat on how urgently you want to sell a gun. Collectors will tend to prefer wartime manufacture, but for someone who wants to shoot a No.4 without wearing down a collectible the No.4Mk.2 has its own appeal. If I didn't have one already I'd expect to have to give at least $400 for it and wouldn't be shocked if someone* wanted it enough to pay $600.

*No, I don't know who he is or when he will come along. I just believe he's out there.

the wood seems to be matching as well. Some dings and dents but for a battle rifle like a lee enfield its in pretty good shape. I am glad that the price i paid was reasonable. I was in a bit of a milsurp phase and now im trimming down my collection to a variety of common calibers ( 7.62x39, .308 etc) so i might think about selling this one in the near future.

Not sure why dd123 is saying the rifle was built in Pakistan. It has a beech stock rather than the walnut stocks used by POF. No mid stock strengthening screw either.

I think it is Brit made and looks OK.

$400+ would be fair.

I'd say $600 easily in this area (Victoria) - these are truly excellent rifles, the last evolution of the 'regular issue' Lee No4, made post war by highly experienced people and with premium quality materials. The majority of these rifles were never issued into regular service - they were issued to University officer cadet corps and used exclusively for drill purposes. It's not uncommon to see these rifles with stock dents and butt plate scrapes but with zero wear of any kind to bolt, magazine floor plate, chamber and barrel.

Then you could have asked what your genuine Irish Contract No4MK2 (F) was worth. :D

Also if you are going to drink beer and take photos get a tripod and use brighter lighting.

My 1950 No4MK2 (F) above was center bedded for competitive use by the South Africans, and cost me $165.00 at a gun show around eight years ago.

When the British stopped making Lee Enfields Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF) bought the machinery of Royal Ordnance Factory Fazackerley ( ROF(F) ) and carried on making No.4Mk.2 rifles but the date of serbinator's rifle and the PF in the serial number are appropriate for ROF(F) No.4Mk.2 rifles. Mine's a PF series from NOV1953.
