Hello!

As I am getting into a niche collecting scene in the near future, I wanted to propose the following:

That we begin a logbook of sorts for anyone who has a 1944 Dated LE No.5 Mk.I

Whomever has a 1944 dated Lee Enfield No.5 Mk.I Carbine is welcome to post pictures, details, and the story of how they obtained the firearm/any "grandpa's knee" stories of their use are welcome as well!

To Begin!

Fazakerley Made November 1944
Flash Hider Replaced in 1946
One Stock Repair near the forend
Very Clean Wood Screw in the side
Bore is immaculate, no pitting or darkness, it is mirror shiny!
Very Accurate to 300 yards (4 inch groups)
Serial C6637
Proper 800 Yard Adjustable Rear Site, Made by Singer Co.

nice. I think both of mine are 1945, but I'd have to check. Both are all matching with the exception of 1 magazine, and are mirror bores as well. Cool guns, but I feel no shame in slipping on a pachmeyer pad if I shoot a box or two off the bench. Standing is no problem though. Mine are un-molested, but one looks like it saw service.
