Tried searching but cant seem to find what im looking for exactly even on milsurps.com...anyways i was wondering if a C No 7 Receiver would work as a No 4 mk1* receiver? are there any differences besides the markings?

Also how do you removing the barrel? i cant seem to find any instructions about it. Can someone help me out?

To remove the barrel you're better off having the proper gun vise and the adapter that clamps onto the barrel. If it was mine I'd take it to my gunsmith (not too far from me).

Not sure about the No7 receiver, I think it's slightly different from the No4. Mind you, finding a spare No4 receiver shouldn't be too hard or expensive,

You have a Cno7 receiver with .22 barrel in it? You can sell it and buy two .303 No 4's with the proceeds. :)
 
Build it up as a .22.
A barrelled No. 7 receiver is more valuable than a No. 4.
As far as differences go, the rear sight mounting pivot hole is different on the right side, and there is an extra hole drilled and tapped for the windage detent spring screw.
 
No7 receiver could be made work however the rear sight mounting hole would have to be bushed to accept the No4 rear sight. The bolt head would have to be changed to CF as well. Mag replaced. Round about way to getting a No4 however you must have your reasons for doing the project.
 
where can you get instructions and the barrel removal tools?Im a DIY kinda guy:Dand the reason im doing this is because i have a brand new spare C no 7 receiver laying around for years and my No.4 is missing a section of the bolt guide rails so the bolt have alot of difficulty cyclling cause it just keeps coming off the tracks.

Basically that would be assembling a parts bitster...you won't have anything anyone would pay much for.
Plus which, it wouldn't have been proofed as a .303...assuming that matters.

Do you mean you have a No 4 Mk I* receiver and the bolt head keeps popping out of the slot? Or a chunk is broken right off?
