I'm wondering where one may purchase or order a wood/metal kit to remilitarize a lee enfield no4 mk1. Sarco won't answer, a WTB on EE turned up nothing, and Marstar doesn't have what I need. Anyone know where I should go to uncover these parts? or am I SOL until something turns up on EE again?

Depends on what you need. No.4 Mk1 wood is still out there...just have to be patient and keep checking the EE, eBay (barf) etc. Numrich will have most metal bits if you can't source it through Marstar or a WTB on the EE.

I haven't seen restoration "kits" for SMLE's like the cleaning rod, sling, capture screw kits for the RC K98's. Would think it's be pretty hard to build a "one-size fits all" kit when these old rifle's could have been sported...or worse "bubba'd" a million different ways.

If it was drilled and tapped, I wouldn't even bother, unless you want a military look to go with your scope.

More info on what's missing / incorrect would help the forum steer you in the right direction and pictures of course. There's some really great guys here with lots of advice.

Good luck

Numrich has No.1 forends. I got an unissued Enfield forend for $55 US... had to pay their huge shipping fee so I got a couple of other parts from them as well.

numrich firearms---liberty tree collectors

I guess Liberty Tree must be buying from these guys: ht tp://www.euroarms.net/EFD/introduction.htm since they're using the photos from their website. They're not on the list of distributors though.

Canadian distributor is given as: LOYALIST ARMS & REPAIRS, 10 BRUNT RD, HARRIETSFIELD, HALIFAX, B3V 1B1

"...Numrich firearms..." Now known as Gunparts Corp.
Like vermintrex says, it depends on what you need. If it needs a barrel I wouldn't bother due to the cost. In any case, you'll need to check the headspace too. Thousands of 'em were assembled out of parts bins with zero QC.
"...Liberty Tree lists..." Parts for a No. 1 won't fit a No. 4 anyway.

Finally got a reply from sarco, and liberty. I can get all my metal bits from liberty, and with any luck I'll get the stock from sarco. Worse comes to worse, I'll go ebay. Thank you guys, I got my bases covered now, thanks.

I just ordered a few parts fro Numirch to rebuild a No5 JC... Sarco seemed to have some items as well but I couldn't find "ds military" on Google... Do you have link ?
