I want to get a stock to restore my grandpa's savage No.4 mk1 that he has out at the farm but i don't know where i could get a stock set with all the bands and screws with it. About how much would it cost and where would i get one? Are all stocks the same or do they differ from a mk1 stock to a mk2 stock?

You need the MkI stock, a MKII will not work well and is not the proper one. The hard part will finding a stock with all the proper Savage markings, Savage metal fittings will be a bit easier. I have been looking for a Savage marked buttstock myself for a few years with no luck.

im not too worried about the right markings and such just as long as it looks original as the rifle is in pretty rough shape.

There are some Enfield parts in the Exchange forum right now.
If they don't have what you need put in a want to buy ad.
There are still lots of bands etc around. The wood is getting harder to come by, but there is still some available.
