Hi all, I was just watching an auction and saw a 1943 No4 Mk1 that had sold for 2600$! If this an accurate reflection of the current value for an excellent quality, original LE, or just bidding fever getting the better of someone?

I saw an idiot blow $13,000. on a No.4 sniper rifle at a local auction! Unless there was something special about the rifle you mention, all you have is a case of bidders fever and no common sense. Hereabouts, it's your bid PLUS 23% (13% GST and 10% buyers premium).

The market price on the EE is higher than it should be, but that is because of all the traffic ads here get. It is a fastest place to find cool stuff. I listed a nice mid-war LB for less than $500 two years ago, and it sold that night.

A $13000 No.4T rifle must have been something special, like a matched Long Branch and CNo.32 REL Scope with the chest, and scope case, WWI reissue leather sling and cleaning kit. Otherwise, I haven't been putting my stuff in the right auctions!

If that rifle sold is one of the No4 MP marked rifles converted to 308 - the price isn't that out of line.

Same with the No4 T or T* Sniper - if a Longbranch, all matching with all the kit such as vail/case/etc - the guy only overpaid 1K.

Can these rifle be had for less?? Yes, of course - but those prices are within Market Values if they are the examples I stated above.

Pricing is always hard - there are the prices I would pay or would recommend paying for an item - but there are always Market examples - which vary.

I had no idea about the MP thing, I just saw a really nice condition No4 Mk1, and a $2600 price tag next to it. It makes a lot more sense if it's something rare.

What'd you supposed a "Long Barrel" is? Idiots.
iCollector is a very high end auction site, but even an MP No. 4 isn't worth that much. Unless they proved it was issued to Dudley Doright.
