My #1 Mk3* restauration "project" has been sitting in the closet for months now. The major holdup is the lack of appropriate wooden bits, and the rather obscene prices that even repros command nowadays (Cheapest I found is worth more than the rifle in it's current state).
I'm now thinking that I should try to carve up my own, time is no importance anyway, and I have all the basic hand tools and some woodworking experience. Does anyone have a suitable set of drawings for those kicking around so I can have a basic idea of what I'm looking for dimension/shape-wise ? The idea is to carve out a basic shape, hand fit it to the rifle and the various metal bits that are eventually going to get bolted/screwed on it, and basically hand fit everything. The rifle's a 1917 BSA btw.
