A friend of mine was given a Lee Enfield and would like to know what this gun is worth. I've seen the rifle myself and it seems to be in very good condition. The only markings I could find on the gun was on the barrel containing the following:

LONG BRANCH 1943 No 4 MKI*

thanks

A few pics would go a long way...

There should be a number on the bolt handle, and possibly the bottom of the magazine. Ideally, these should match the number on the receiver.

Does it still have bayonet lugs near the muzzle?

Without seeing it and little or no information I'd say it's worth $50 to $75. More information and pictures would help a lot.

Long Branch Price

The Long Branch rifles I have had, never had a serial number on the mag.
I have had US No4's and No5's with serial numbers but not Canadain Long Branch rifles.
If it has is good uncut barrel, has a good mag, and a matching serial number on the bolt it's worth about $100 and up.

I have several Long Branch rifles with the s/n stamped on the mag by persons unknown...it does happen.
